The Root of the Problem – Part 1

Sometimes, what we see on the surface, isn’t the real reason for problems in our lives.  We need to look deep and find the root of the problem.

Scriptures: 1 Samuel 13, 1 Samuel 15, 2 Samuel 11

But now your kingdom shall not endure. The Lord has sought out for Himself a man after His own heart, and the Lord has appointed him as ruler over His people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you. 1 Samuel 13:14 NASB

Saul said, “I have sinned. Please honor me now before the elders of my people and before Israel. Come back with me so I can bow in worship to the Lord your God.” 1 Samuel 15:30 HCSB

David responded to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.” Then Nathan replied to David, “The Lord has taken away your sin; you will not die. 2 Samuel 12:13 HCSB

Guard your heart above all else, for it is the source of life. Proverbs 4:23 HCSB

“A good tree doesn’t produce bad fruit; on the other hand, a bad tree doesn’t produce good fruit.  For each tree is known by its own fruit. Figs aren’t gathered from thornbushes, or grapes picked from a bramble bush. A good man produces good out of the good storeroom of his heart. An evil man produces evil out of the evil storeroom, for his mouth speaks from the overflow of the heart. Luke 6:43-45 HCSB

Matthew 15

  • God’s Word is more important than any other voice out there!
  • What ultimately matters is what God thinks about it!
  • What you put in…will come out!
